Head-butt by Horse Restores Man's Sight
By Rachel Williams, The Scotsman
A SECOND World War veteran who was blinded in his right eye
when he was hit by shrapnel can see again after being head-butted by
a pedigree racehorse.
Doctors tried in vain for 64 years to restore Don Karkos's
sight, until My Buddy Chimo stepped in.
Hours after the horse smacked the 82-year-old paddock
security guard in exactly the same spot as the shrapnel gashed his
forehead in combat in 1942, he realised his vision was returning.

Ford's UFO Legacy:
Unapproving
of The Air Force's Explanation He Requests Congressional
Investigation
by Frank Warren, --frankwarren.blogspot.com
The year 1966 was very active for UFOs
in this country; in particular sightings were heavy in the state of
Michigan, and understandably people wanted answers. The Air Force
back then was still “officially” investigating the phenomenon and
tasked “J. Allen Hynek” to “calm the waters” and offer an
explanation; the answer he gave would haunt him the rest of his
life. He attributed the bulk of the sightings to “swamp gas!”
Then Congressman
“Gerald ‘Jerry’ Ford” being a diligent politician and in response to
his constituents wrote:

What Makes a Place Get
Haunted?
by Stephan Piperno,
--UFO
Digest
Many
hotels, cemeteries and prisons are said to be haunted. Places like
Alcatraz, Stull Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas and the Adams Mark
hotel in Buffalo, New York are said to have ghost roaming around.
Why do ghosts tend to stay in certain locations and keep far away
from others?
Ghosts
are often seen where pain and suffering occurred for certain
individuals. Many ghosts tend to haunt places where their pain was
said to be the greatest. In the case of Alcatraz prison, ghost
hunters have often stated that great pain and poor treatment
occurred towards the prisoners of Alcatraz. Therefore, ghosts have
been seen and heard on this island time and time again. It has
become one of the most sought after places for ghost hunters. Stull
Cemetery is nicknamed “the gates of hell” because it is said that
the devils child is buried there. It is said that a boy was able to
turn himself into a werewolf here and Satanists conduct rituals
here. In 1812, buildings and homes were destroyed on the property
where the Adams Mark hotel sits today. The homes and buildings were
destroyed in the war of 1812 in Buffalo, New York. As you can see,
there has been some negative energy around these places.

French Space Agency to Publish UFO
Archive Online
Reuters
PARIS (Reuters) - The French space
agency is to publish its archive of UFO sightings and other
phenomena online, but will keep the names of those who reported them
off the site to protect them from pestering by space fanatics.
Jacques Arnould, an official at the
National Space Studies Center (CNES), said the French database of
around 1,600 incidents would go live in late January or
mid-February.
He said the CNES had been collecting
statements and documents for almost 30 years to archive and study
them.

One Giant Screwup for
Mankind
by David Kushner
WHEN THE EAGLE LUNAR
MODULE TOUCHED DOWN ON JULY 20, 1969,
all eyes were on astronaut Neil Armstrong. But Stan Lebar's ass was
on the line.
A young electrical engineer at
Westinghouse, Lebar had been tasked with developing a camera that
could capture the most memorable moment of the 20th century – the
Apollo 11 moon landing. The goal of the mission wasn't
merely to get a man on the moon. It was to send back a live
television feed so that everyone could see it – particularly the
Soviets, who had initiated the space race in 1957 by launching
Sputnik. If the feed failed, Lebar, the designated spokesperson for
the video setup, would turn the camera on himself at Mission Control
in Houston and apologize to more than half a billion TV viewers. "It
was my responsibility," he says. "I'd have to stand up and take the
hit."
